Stendahls and Husqvarna came to us with an idea to make a Tinder for trees - Timber. We made that idea reality with a progressive web app (PWA). Timber created a global buzz in only a matter of days reaching 17 099 375 people! Timber was awarded “Creative Pick of the Day” by adage.com.
Progressive web apps are websites / web apps that look and feels like a native app on your device. This means users can access all information and capabilities without downloading a mobile app. Instead, progressive web apps use modern web technology to deliver app-like experiences to users, right in their browsers.
As natives applications are rather time-consuming to develop and maintain a PWA is much more cost effective. It is also much more available as you don't have to download it.
If you add the PWA to your phones home-screen, it will even work offline, just like an native app.
Soon after release the Timber campaign topped creativity-lists across the globe and was awarded "Creative Pick of the Day". The campaign itself reached over 17 million people both in- and outside the industry!
The campaign was an international success that reached far beyond Husqvarna's ordinary target group and generated not only engagement and press but also doubled the hits on Husqvarna Chainsaw Academy's website.
